18. Jägerleit-Kompanie „Pomeranze“

Beitrag von Alkali » 01.04.2009 00:20

Hi Friends,

Location - east from village Steimersdorf (now Suchy Las), on western slope of hill “153,8” in Forst Grünheide. The whole this the northern suburbs of Poznan.
Equipment at war:
- 5 Y-Linien.
Present state: rest of
- 2 Heinrich Peiler,
- unidentified bunker,
- ruins of barracks area.
During war this companie was stacioned in forest and on field. At present terrain is strongly built-up with houses. The remaining units of equipment probably underwent the destruction.

Regards,
Czarek

Hi Czarek,
I don't how I missed your first post. Avery nice find. Since the site was located in what to-day is a wooded area, you ought to be able to find the foundations for the Hans masts as well. It is my guess that they are in a semi circle about 200 m E of the Heinrich foundations.

Hi,

Unfortunately probably all foundations for the Hans masts be worn out.
I found only several dig foundations.

Best regards,
Czarek

Hi All,

A few days ago my friends from Poznan found in Suchy Las the foundations of the sixth (sic!) Heinrich Peiler tower.

Hi,

Second part of Pomeranze was located near to the town Mosina (close to Poznan)
One of the foundations found has not been fully completed - no screws.

BRGDS,

Hi CoVoX!

Six and four makes it ten.
This fits with a list from June 1944. In this month for POMERANZE
were listed five Y-Linien in use and five under construction.

But when this area was "POMERANZE II" where was FuMB PFIRSICH?

Best wishes
Rolf
